City Bus Services Launched from Terminal 3 at Lucknow Airport

Lucknow: In a significant step towards improving urban connectivity, Lucknow International Airport Limited (LIAL) has launched new city bus services from Terminal 3 of Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA).

The initiative, introduced in collaboration with Lucknow City Transport Services Limited (LCTSL), aims to strengthen public transport access for air travelers as well as airport staff. The move is expected to provide safe, affordable, and reliable commuting options while encouraging greater use of public transportation and reducing traffic congestion across the city.

The bus services were formally flagged off by Amar Nath Sahay, Managing Director of LCTSL, and Darshan Singh, Chief Airport Officer at CCSIA, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

A spokesperson from Lucknow International Airport stated that the launch reflects a shared commitment to enhancing passenger convenience, strengthening urban mobility, and promoting sustainable and eco-friendly transport solutions for the city.

The newly introduced bus routes will operate on the following corridors:

  • CCSIA, Lucknow to Hazratganj via Charbagh
  • CCSIA, Lucknow to Awadh Bus Station via Shaheed Path

These strategically planned routes will connect the airport with key commercial hubs, residential areas, and major transit points, ensuring seamless last-mile connectivity and a more convenient travel experience for passengers.

Lucknow International Airport Limited (LIAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited, is responsible for the operation, management, and development of CCSIA. The company signed a 50-year concession agreement with Airports Authority of India (AAI) and began commercial operations on November 2, 2020.

LIAL has introduced several passenger-centric initiatives at the airport, including DigiYatra, e-gates, 2D scanners, automatic tray retrieval systems, self-baggage drop counters, automatic number-plate recognition for vehicles, and FASTag-based payment systems, further enhancing the overall travel experience.
